Changelog
Release notes for the Page Scanner extension, with new features, improvements and bug fixes by version.
The version you have is on chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions), under Page Scanner.
After an update, the next editor you open says so, with a button to this page.
2.2.0
October 24, 2026
- Added Scan scrolling in the popup, a preview: it scrolls the page by itself and makes a storyboard of how it behaves, the page cut into scenes with six frames each and what moved said in sentences. The editor plays it back in a flipbook, lets you mark the frames up, leave scenes out and write a note for each, and saves it as one PDF to hand to an AI coding agent
- Added scroll storyboards for local agents:
page-scanner storyboardand the MCP server'sstoryboard_pageget the same PDF, what was measured as JSON and the frames as files
2.1.0
October 2, 2026
- Added Map this site in the popup, a preview: up to 30 of a site's pages captured whole and laid out on the editor's canvas by how many links they are from the start, with the links drawn between them, saved as one PNG, an SVG or a file for Figma
- Added Record steps in the popup, a preview: each click becomes a step with a picture of the screen and a sentence that says it, sign-in and password fields are redacted, and the editor writes the guide as one PDF, a page a step
- Added an accessibility check, switched on in the settings: the page's failures against WCAG A and AA boxed on the capture and listed in the editor's Accessibility panel, which saves the marked PDF
- Added CSV to the Output Format panel, for the tables in the crop, including the ones a page draws with table roles or as a CSS grid
- Added a welcome page after the install that says where the icon went, and a short tour of the editor the first time it opens
- Improved Markdown and Word for discussion threads: comments, paragraphs and code stay apart, and a comment tree drawn by indentation keeps its depth
- Improved Main content on pages whose main column sits beside a sidebar, such as GitHub issues
- Improved the popup's buttons with an icon each
- Fixed Markdown missing the text inside a shadow root and in code editors
- Fixed very long and virtualized pages stopping short of their end, and chats that had not yet loaded their whole history
- Fixed pages whose own print handlers changed the page while it was captured
2.0.0
September 29, 2026
- Added the AI Assistant (
Mod+K), a panel in the editor that does what you ask in a sentence, in any language, with the editor's own controls: it lists what it would change, runs it onMod+Enter, and Undo puts it back. It is a preview, read by Page Scanner's server, free for 10 requests a month - Added a side panel before the scan, opened from the button left of the popup's gear: say how the page should be captured (the width, the clutter to hide, folded sections, the color scheme, videos, one element), then approve it with Scan. The editor's Assistant carries on from what was said there
- Added a phone width for the scan, and Phone screen pages for a PDF
- Added the page's own citation data (author, date, publisher, address) to every file, with an optional RIS file for a reference manager, and an author or a date offered from the byline where the page declares none
- Added extracting several tabs as a research bundle: a ZIP with a file and its Markdown for each tab, a references file, an index and SHA-256 digests

- Added the page's language to every PDF, detected where the page does not say it
- Added ID and tax numbers found by their check digit to Pattern Scan, for Korea, Japan, China, Italy and the US
- Added an offer of a model run in the browser, or a server on this computer, where AI scan and tidying find no built-in model
- Added, for local agents: Markdown sized to fit a context, personal data taken out before an agent reads the page, slices of the page sized for a vision model, the page's pictures as files, and the passages an agent quoted highlighted in the PDF
- Added a short survey on the page that opens when Page Scanner is removed
- Changed the wordmark's typeface to Bricolage Grotesque
- Removed Phone, tablet and desktop, the three widths side by side in one scan: a saved choice of it now scans at the phone width, and captures made with it still open

- Fixed AI scan and tidying reaching for a model that has to download first while offline
