Export

Press Extract in the toolbar, or ⌘/Ctrl + E. A sheet opens on the right. Every option in it says what it will produce for the crop you have drawn: the page count, the pixel size, the paper dimensions. Esc closes the sheet without touching the crop.

Format

• PDF. Text stays selectable and artwork stays vector. For a raster capture the sheet says instead that this PDF holds an image.
• PNG. Lossless.
• JPEG. Much smaller, and lossy. A quality slider appears, set to 90 % by default.

Page layout

For a PDF, choose the paper.

• A4 pages, the default. 210 × 297 mm.
• US Letter pages. 8.5 × 11 in.
• Single long page. One page exactly the size of the crop, with no margin and no scaling.

A4 and Letter keep a half-inch margin on every edge, scale the crop to fit the width inside it, and slice it top to bottom into as many pages as it takes. Each card states the scale it applies and what that does to 16 px body text, in points, and warns you when text would come out under 8 pt.

A single long page is the most faithful output, and its card gives the size in inches. It warns you past 200 inches, because some PDF viewers, Acrobat among them, cut off a page that tall, and no printer takes one. That is why the default is A4.

See the page breaks first

With A4 or Letter selected, the cuts are drawn straight onto the capture behind the sheet and numbered, so you can see which part of the page lands on which sheet before you export. They follow the printable area inside the margin, not the edge of the paper, and they disappear when the sheet closes.

Destination

For an image, choose where it goes. File downloads it. Clipboard copies it, so you can paste it straight into another app.

The clipboard takes PNG only, because Chrome's clipboard will not accept a JPEG or a PDF. Choosing it with another format saves a file instead of failing at the end.

The file name

The page's title, or its address when it has no title, followed by the date and time of the export and the format's extension.
